It was a mission and a half. And then some. A feat of planning and cooperation.
Day one hosted the LZF Super Agents in the Super Agent best of LZF products Lounge before they were called out on assignment for the day. That was when our own secret mission came through.
The objective: To convert the LZF Super Agent Lounge into a fully functional display of LZF new collections 2015.
The showroom was to be built in the same space as the lounge and had to be completed before the Super Agents return. That gave us 12 hours.
Fortunately, Mission Director Marivi Calvo had been working on the blueprints for the mission months in advanced, working out the feeling of the space and overseeing the fine details. Ultimately her plan would highlight the flexibility of LZF lamps, showcasing their broad applicability to a wide range of environments.
But was there enough time to pull off such a feat? We would find out.
The Showroom would be used to display all the new fixtures presented in Milan in 2015 . Vibrant Spiro pendants lamps by Remedios Simon were to be set along side the new LZF Dandelion pendant lamps by Burkhard Dämmer. Swimming through this mix of light would be the Koi lighting sculpture extraordinaire by Inocuo The sign & LZF Lab, a sight to see.
There would also be a `Making of Koi´ workshop, where the Super Agents could investigate the schematics and inner workings of this top secret fixture.
Placed through out the showroom, Marivi had displayed works from the creator of Funny Farm, Isidro Ferrer. These ranged from his LZF collaboration on the Life Size sculptures (the Fish LS and Elephant LS) to his solo works, Cuaderno de Vacaciones paintings and the Naturaleta Nomada figurines, donated by Set Espai D’Art . All this would be illuminated by LZF’s club series designed by Burkhard Dämmer.
The new LZF Exhibition Kart, sent direct from Q (the LZF quartermaster) and developed by Chmara.Rosinke, was also to be out on display for the Super Agents to play with.
Possessing all the gadgets you would expect to find in a Bond film, the LZF Exhibiting Kart would leave it’s mark. Sporting an Asterisco table lamp, Air table lamp, Chou table lamp, New Wave pendant lamps, Pleg wall lamp and a Carambola table lamp for use in case of emergencies, the kart is an example of ingenuity and multifunctional design and will become the weapon of choice for exhibiting in small trade shows and exhibitions.
It was close, but by the time the sun came up we were happy to say that we had done it. We even had time to take some photos.
