As vibrant and vivid as a scene in a Pedro Almodóvar movie, LZF’s summer garden soirées are a thriving pot-pourri of artistry and craftsmanship, liberality and pleasure.
In an event organised and designed by LZF co-founder Marivi Calvo along with Rocío Pastor, a stylist, props and costume designer, a group of esteemed design bloggers and journalists enjoyed an evening of Spanish hospitality, LZF-style. Marivi is an accomplished artist and designer with an all-round creative vision. Working with Rocío, she understands the importance of a smart welcome and handsome backdrop. After an illuminating factory tour and an upbeat presentation by LZF’s other co-founder Sandro Tothill, the invited guests were treated to one of LZF’s renowned garden parties. A joyous social gathering, it was an opportunity to unwind and kick back in a well-dressed garden setting.
The event was arranged in conjunction with Reunión Empresas de Diseño or RED, a platform that strives to champion Spain’s extensive design heritage. Working with designers, manufacturers and the media broadly, RED seeks to increase both product and brand awareness for its members. Under the banner of “Sunny Design Days”, RED invited a group of ten different design bloggers and journalists to meet with a cohort of its members: up-close, personal and in some fantastically unparalleled settings. One such setting was LZF’s prepossessing factory and home, set in a former winery overlooking the delightfully charming Spanish town of Chiva in Valencia.
Lighting the magnificent garden surroundings were many of LZF’s alluring handmade wood veneer lamps. Irish designer Ray Power’s Escape and Swirl pendants hung from tree branches, appearing splendid above the sumptuous dining table. Power’s New Wave and Luis Eslava Estudio’s Agatha pendants ensured that as the evening darkened, cocktails and food were prepared with ease. And further adding to the ambience were several LZF table and wall lamps, including the Chou by Yonoh Estudio Creativo, Piknik by Belén Moratalla, Cristina Planells and Inelén Ortínthe and Air (wall) by Ray Power. A selection of furniture pieces from Francisco Segarra and Expormim completed the scene.
LZF was delighted to welcome the following guests at its “Sunny Design Days” summer soirée: Judith de Graaff from Joelix; Oscar Duböy from Architectural Digest France; Linda Elmin from Hviit Blog; Tiffany Grant Riley from Curate & Design; Dariya Krivolapova from Elle Decor Russia; Lucy Meek from Decorenvy; Matthew Morris from Wallpaper*; Mrudul Pathank from Elle Decor India; Jen Stanbroek from Love Chic Living UK; Ewa Trzcionka from Design Alive. From RED: Juan Mellen, Maite Felices, Pablo Castillo and Mireia Cervera.
We look forward to seeing you again soon
