Coinciding with Valencian Desseny Week 2016, and forming part of Sunny Design Days, LZF underwent an oriental transformation in anticipation of the arrival of a group of American interior design professionals whom our friends at RED had organised to come pay us a visit.
In preparation for the event, Marivi Calvo with the assistance of stylist Rocio Pastor, had put together a calming and dreamlike experience, bringing together light, food and nature to demonstrate the potency of the combination.
The space had a relaxed air. Bamboo surrounded the central table upon which our guests would sat and conversed. The table was decorated with cherry blossom and three Chou table lamps. Overhead a Koi Fish drifted in and out of an installation of Escape pendant lamps. It was the perfect area in which to present, converse and yes, eat.
During the LZF presentation, Sandro and Marivi gave sneak peeks at what LZF was planning to release later in the year. Glimpses were given into the up and coming magazine, photos from the soon to be released second chapter of the Telling Tales campaign were shown. They even brought out a prototype or two, which were eagerly admired while sipping apple cinnamon martinis. After the excitement of the presentation it was time to eat.
Tastem, one of the best sushi restaurants in Valencia prepared a delicious selection of vibrant Japanese dishes from seafood to wagyu beef. To prepare the food, Tastem, brought two of it’s star chefs, Yoshi Yanome and Taku Inamine. Yoshi Yanome is currently ranked as the number one sushi chef in Spain and 5th in the world. He personally prepared all the sushi and sashimi which was presented impeccably to our guests.
By the time we finished eating, it was 12:30 and time to call it a night. So after exchanging details wishing them all well, we waved their bus off into the Valencian night.
