Forbes Magazine once ranked Orinda, California the second most friendly city in America. Begging the question, which city is the friendliest? Because seriously, the Orindans are SUPER nice folks to hang around.
That’s why LZF jumped at the chance to provide several of our LINK Pendant Lamps to one of our favourite designers, to use in a home at Orinda. We couldn’t resist the idea that shiny, happy, people would be dining beneath our LINKs’ beautiful glow.
Kriste Michelini from Kriste Michelini Interiors opted for an aesthetic that was at once sophisticated while remaining light and airy.
Kriste likes to use juxtaposition to create plenty of designer drama; for example, her use of darker furniture in the living room to contrast the light-coloured walls. Such an interesting juxtaposition was the rationale behind Kriste’s selecting our Link Pendant Lamps (designed by none other than Ray Power) for the home’s contemporary kitchen.
While most current kitchens tend towards the cold and white, Kriste has created a space that is warm and welcoming, while staying true to its modern, urbane roots. The kitchen features a spacious island, ample designer seating and a fabulous custom range hood. A cross extension table and leather chairs by Bottega produce an inviting element to the kitchen nook, confirming its role as the hub of the house.
LZF’s LINK Pendant Lamps come in a wide range of wood veneer finishes (well, nine if you want to be pedantic about it). Kriste opted for the white version. A smart choice, because our two white LINKs provide the necessary counterpoint between the dark hardwood floors and cabinetry, and the lighter, neutral coloured splash-back and benchtops.
We kinda think Kriste has found the missing LINK.
As 2016 draws to a close, it’s rapidly becoming apparent that our LINK pendants are sure to be on many a designer’s Christmas shopping lists. It’s been a huge year for this amazing creation by Mr Power, with scarcely a high-end project that hasn’t embraced its charms.
Thankfully, the friendly people in Orinda tend to agree.
