One of the many things that make LZF´s gorgeous handmade pendant lights so special is that they are the real deal. Which is probably why Washington-based Barnes Vanze Architects chose us to provide our versatile pendant lights for one of their latest projects.
As the clients are dedicated foodies, who spend a lot of time behind the stove, the family-friendly addition was focused around the kitchen.
Barnes Vanze added floor space and ceiling height while opening the whole space up to a beautiful vista of the valley to the east. The expanded kitchen extends into a breakfast area and family room—all surrounded by windows.
A two-sided fireplace anchors the addition’s main level, separating the family room from the more formal dining room, while providing easy flow for entertaining.
LZF’s authenticity was called on to provide a Mini Mikado pendant light by Miguel Harranz. The Mini Mikado adds a touch of the Orient to an otherwise very American interior. It’s splayed timber form and delicacy is in stark contrast to the solid, rectilinear fireplace adjacent.
By now, readers of this blog will be more than familiar with the Link pendant light by megastar Ray Power . The Link hangs over a classic Saarinen dining table capturing a little of that mid-century modernism, albeit with a contemporary twist.
But what really made us pleased as punch was the fact that the foodies should choose a LZF’s Gea pendant light for the heart of their home – the kitchen. The Gea, designed by Marivi Calvo, is one of our earliest models and it still shines brightly in any setting.
Now that’s what we call keeping it real.
