LZF wooden pendants in a new modern home
Like LZF´s Wooden pendants, Vancouver has a hell of a lot going for it. For a start, it’s been voted in the top five most liveable cities in the world. Residents can go skiing, mountain bike riding, sailing, kayaking and play golf all on the same day. What a life!
Yet like every city, it’s not perfect. For a start Bryan – Everything I Do – Adams once lived there, which is almost reason enough to boycott the place. And cheesy Canadian crooner Michael Buble calls Vancouver home. Indeed he’s in the process of building a ridiculously big house with an ice-rink in the basement.
However Vancouver, we can forgive these indiscretions, as you have thoroughly embraced LZF’s beautiful handmade wooden lamps.
Indeed Mosaic Homes has been developing an estate of luxury townhouses and single family homes, in Roxton, Coquitlam Burke Mountains, which utilizes classic and timeless finishes . One of these houses – a display home – was created for a ‘hip young couple that loves to entertain’. That was the brief given to Tara Wells of Portico Design Group.
Wells describes the furnishings as urban modern. “The living room has that fun downtown vibe, yet is extremely comfortable, without being presumptuous,” she says.
Local art and a custom-made clock are the creative touches needed to pull this dramatic space together. “This family can use the room for anything from kids’ play dates to dancing on New Years’ Eve,” says Wells.
Taking centre stage are our awesome wooden pendants. An Ivory White Link Suspension Lamp by Ireland’s golden boy Ray Power hangs over the bed in the master bedroom. Over the dining table, Wells specified a Sioux Suspension Lamp by Miguel Herranz, also in Ivory White. It’s rather unfortunate that the Sioux is no longer available…maybe we should reconsider that decision? Tell us what you think?
Vancouver, a big thumbs up!
