Villa π is quite simply one of the most amazing domestic projects LZF have ever had the pleasure of having their wooden lamps feature in. Situated on 4 hectares of beautifully landscaped grounds, the villa is located on the southern edge of Cepin, a village near Osijek, Croatia
Architect Oliver Grigić designed the 1393 square metre abode around the needs of the client, a host who obviously takes entertaining seriously. This is why the villa has three entrances and three levels of accessibility. Firstly, there is the southern entrance to the pool area and the guest wing on the first floor, secondly, the western entrance for recreational and service areas, and finally the northern entrance which leads into the private premises of the owner and his family.
Materials used in the external and interior design are traditional, natural, and of predominantly warm brown tones with minimal final treatment, ensuring a feeling of warmth and connection with nature for the owner and their family and guests.
This is why LZF’s naturally warm wooden lamps work so well throughout the home.
The main living area of Villa π features our signature piece, the Candelabro created by the insanely talented Mariví Calvo. The Candelabro, a riotous assemblage with its whimsical birds, is a heroic work befitting such a prime space in the home.
A trio of Link wood pendant lights by our friend Ray Power take pride of place over the formal dining area, while elegant floor lamp versions of the Link have also been utilised in various other rooms.
In the bedrooms, Ray Power’s enigmatic Air wall lamps create versatile and sculptural bedside illumination. The super teutonic I-Club pendant by Burkhard Dämmer hangs over the large kitchen bench, inviting friends and family to gather and chat with the cook.
Of course, all of LZF’s wood lamps, with their eco-friendly low-energy bulbs and FSC certified timbers, more than meet the owner’s expectations when it comes to green living.
Thank you, architect Oliver Grigić and your enlightened client, for bringing our lights to Villa π.
