The team from LZF were uber-excited to be part of this uber-prestigious office design project in Washington recently. Seattle based JPC Architects, one of the most acclaimed architecture and interior design firms in the Pacific Northwest, chose us to supply several of our handmade wooden veneer lamps for a sexy new development.

The project was a new office space in the incredibly hip Fremont area of Seattle. The client was none other than Ubermind; a mobile app technology company that is renowned as one of the USA’s coolest firms to work for.

Ubermind’s employees – known collectively as Ubies – now have a beautiful new place to go to work that blurs the line between office-space and home.

JPC’s architect Mike Jones and interior designer Yvignette Tang introduced a strong use of colour and texture, while paring back any extraneous ceiling adornment to reveal the service utilities. The result is a functional, contemporary office environment that has really put a smile on the Ubies’ faces.

The office design was also critically acclaimed with a 1st place ranking in the Seattle Design Center’s NW Design Awards – Corporate Category.

LZF’s own contribution to the Ubermind interior, comprised of three Link suspension lamps, finished in natural cherry wood. The lamps, designed by Irish superstar Ray Power, have become a very popular choice in both commercial and domestic applications around the globe.

JPC utilised our Links in the breakout area adjacent to reception, so they are the first thing most people see when arriving at Ubermind’s HQ.

The properties of the fixtures, their colour and sinuous wooden forms, are used to  a complimentary extent, linking the wooden elements while also providing balance to hard forms and textures that make up the space. Lovely work!
