Studio Anderlicht is a lighting consultancy firm based in Groningen in the northern Netherlands. Principal designer Marije Maat designs lighting plans for a range of clients, both commercial and residential. Studio Anderlicht works on the premise that lighting is a central component of any room, providing the appropriate atmosphere, and affording the space a certain identity. The studio tailors every lighting plan to the client’s specific needs and will specify lights from various sources. Working with Illum Kunstlicht, a lighting importer based in the Netherlands, Studio Anderlicht has incorporated a number of LZF’s lamps into several projects. With their graceful presence and poetic form, LZF’s lamps provide Studio Anderlicht with the sense of design clarity and personality that it seeks for each and every project.

At Rabobank in the Dutch town of Stadskanaal, large photographs of potatoes and rapeseed are pictured on office walls and floorspace (Rabobank’s main focus is on food and agribusiness). As part of the building’s extensive lighting scheme, Studio Anderlicht chose LZF’s Saturnia and Link pendants—the handmade wood veneer lamps are the perfect complement to the images of nature.

Woonhuis Appingedam

For this ‘woonhuis’ (family house) in Appingedam in the northeastern Netherlands, Studio Anderlicht’s lighting scheme works in tandem with the home’s natural light. Alongside the extensive use of colour and art, LZF’s Nut and Escape pendants bring an appealing organic feel to the space.

Pento Audiologisch Centrum

Working with Pento Audiologisch Centrum (Pento Audiology Centre) in Assen in the northeastern Netherlands, Studio Anderlicht’s key objective was to use light as a way of guiding people through the building. Based on the premise that when hearing is impaired our eyesight is even more important, lighting was used as both a wayfinder and a means of providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Studio Anderlicht chose a palette of soft textures, colour, and wood in order to imbue the centre with a homey ambience. LZF’s simple and classic Nut pendant features in this project.
