There are plenty of good reasons to move to Park Slope, Brooklyn. For a start it has been voted one of the greatest neighbourhoods in all of America, largely due to its access to public schools, dining, nightlife, shopping, public transport, and green space.
And it’s also a popular spot for star-gazing: Maggie Gyllenhaal, Steve Buscemi and Patrick Stewart are among the many well-known actors who call Park Slope home.
But you may need to establish a healthy relationship with your bank manager if you’re eyeing off one of the beautiful brownstone homes that line the leafy streets. You’ll pay well north of $USD2 million to get the keys to the front door.
LZF are no strangers to such exclusivity. Sure, we might convey the common touch, but to tell the truth it’s all show. When we’re not making gorgeous wood veneer lamps, we spend our time rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous: Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses, Hollywood Royalty…that’s how we roll. Few people realise that the Queen of England actually has Sandro on her speed dial.
So when we were asked to provide some of our stunning hand-made lamps to enhance a jaw-droppingly glamorous Park Slope brownstone. Well, how could we refuse?
Revamped by the frighteningly talented Elizabeth Maletz of Maletz Design, the brownstone is just about as elegant as we’ve ever seen. With its white on white colour scheme, parquetry floor, and ornate period features, we are talking a seriously classy abode.
Speaking of classy…our Orbit Lamp (by Miguel Herranz) and Nut Lamp (by Ray Power) both in natural cherry wood veneer can be found looking spectacular in the brownstone’s kitchen.
Yeah, we’ll never be royals.
But we try.
