Now in its ninth edition, the Premios Personajes del Año ceremony took place on 16th November 2021 at the splendid Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando), in the heart of Madrid. The ceremony’s presenter, journalist Cristina Lasvignes, thanked each of the winners for ‘demonstrating an unwavering commitment to doing things well and sparing no effort to achieve them’.

LZF’s co-founder and creative director Mariví Calvo was on hand to collect the award for Interior Design and Design. The award itself is the work of Spanish artist Juan Garaizabal. Titled ‘Trazos Metálicos’, the piece was made to embody a staircase and a window that lead to excellence. Receiving the award from Raúl Castillo, commercial director of Unidad Editorial (the media company that owns Expansión), Mariví remarked: ‘[At LZF] we have always believed in work done with emotion and respect for artisan tradition.’
