LZF modern wood lamps gleam out in new equestrian home.
This year, American designer Krista Watterworth was enlisted by a client who took living with horses very seriously. Indeed, this particular client was such a horse enthusiast that they not only decided to live in the heart of horse country, (Wellington, Florida) but also decided to build their home in a horse equestrian centre to immerse their daughter, a skilled rider, in the equine culture. And what a decision this turned out to be!
The exterior of the house embraces the green surroundings of the equestrian centre with lush views out to the encompassing garden. The interior of the house is clean and minimal, with colour used sparingly. Not to a diminishing extent, rather the uses of colour highlights spaces of interest, bursting out against the cooler surroundings.
Like for instance in the kitchen where the LZF Link suspension lamp crowns the breakfast table with its eternally flowing surfaces. Designed by Ray Power, the natural cherry veneer of the Link behaves as a smooth bridge between the cool coloured surroundings and the electric orange kitchen chairs.
Also selected for the project was the Mini Mikado by Miguel Herranz which hovers in the master bedroom. Chosen for its theatrical flare and spectacularly cast shadows, the fixture will surely add to the sensory experience felt in the space during the evenings and nights.
The client wanted the home to reflected her own taste and personality: “A home that blends modern and traditional elements in a subtle and effortless manner”.
And Krista clearly didn’t horse about on this, which is especially evident in their use of LZF lighting, who specialise in hand made wood lamps.
No Bull here.
