Of all the projects that LZF Lamps has undertaken, this one is the nearest and dearest to us. That’s because it’s our very own graphic’s office at LZF headquarters in Chiva; a charming little village on the outskirts of Valencia.
We moved into our headquarters back in 2008 where the building had been used as a winery back in the day. We put a lot of time and effort into transforming the old winery into a place of mercantile magic and daring design (yes, we rather like alliteration) and nowadays it’s our home away from home.
Over the years our headquarters has not only been a hub of creativity and commerce, it has also hosted some of the most fabulous gatherings on the planet. These parties owe much to the event design’s of Marivi Calvo who always puts something special together using LZF’s brilliant lamps to create just the right atmosphere.
Marivi has used this same rare talent and eye for detail to make our graphic’s office a place where our five designers want to hang out. In fact the office is so nice and cozy that often on Friday afternoons we have to force the team to go home, rather than hanging out at the office.
First Marivi chose the very flexible Cubox system by Valencian company Cubox 12 to add a touch of whimsy to the space. Fully customisable and finished in a range of colours, Cubox’s red, greens and blues brighten up even the dreariest Monday morning.
Of course, when it came to the lighting what else would Marivi specify but our own beautiful timber veneer lamps? With a whole catalogue of choice in front of her, she selected two of the classic I-Club suspension lamps by Burkhard Dämmer to use as task lighting over the workstations. And to add a sculptural interest several Air table lamps by Ray Power can be found dotted around the studio shelves.
We reckon our graphic’s offices look pretty damn special and our graphic’s team at LZF agree.
Thanks Marivi.
